Is that what we should use to calculate our taxes? If we found a new huge gold reserve, and the value of gold dropped to below the legal tender value stamped on the coin, would this no longer be a crime? Are we really saying that the same act either IS or ISN'T a crime dependent on the price of some commodity? So gold at $50.01/oz = felony, and gold at $49.99/oz = all is well?
