Jacob Hornberger, the president of the Future of Freedom Foundation, will be interviewed by ITTV on 9/17/09 at 1 pm EST

September 9th, 2009 No comments

bios_jghJacob Hornberger, the president of the Future of Freedom Foundation, will be interviewed by ITTV on 9/17/09 at 1 pm EST. Watch the live video interview at BoldVoices.TV channel 6 and join the chat room to interact with other viewers and the host. Questions will be taken from the chat room.

If you can not watch live the interview will be recorded and available for viewing online later that day. The interview will be focused on Jacob Hornberger’s blog post: Prosecuting Robert Kahre for Embarrassing the Federal Reserve.

Here is a quote from the above post:

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what Las Vegas businessman Robert Kahre has done to deserve a federal criminal indictment. From what I can tell, Kahre is the victim of a brutal, heavy-handed Justice Department that is acting at the behest of the IRS and possibly even officials of the Federal Reserve.

Today, Kahre, 48, is in a federal trial facing a 57-count indictment. If he’s convicted on all counts, he could end up spending the rest of his life in jail.

From what I can tell, the feds are going after Kahre for two main reasons, both of which appear to me to be ludicrous abuses of prosecutorial power. First, the feds are upset that Kahre paid his workers with gold and silver coins. Second, they’re upset that he treated his workers as independent contractors rather than as salaried employees.

New Twitter hash tag #afterthefed ; new ITTV page

July 25th, 2009 No comments

Hash tag #afterthefed to discuss what comes after we end the fed, read more here http://intheory.tv/afterthefed/

Quote from the above linked page:

Many people in the United States have been calling for an Audit of the Federal Reserve and many people would like to see the private central banks eliminated. Count me as one of those people who want an audit and then want it ended. But then what? How would the new ideas be implemented? What are some of the systems that have been purposed and what are there strengths and weaknesses?

On my show In Theory TV a new major topic is to start talking about the solutions and not just the problems. In my effort to expand this meme of thinking about “After the Fed” I have started a hash tag to be used on Twitter: #afterthefed I will be monitoring this hash tag and talking about these ideas on my twice a week live internet broadcast.

I started the hash tag with a tweet:

#tlot Want to End the Federal Reserve? Yes? So say it happens, then what? Discuss alternates with hash tag #afterthefed

A hash tag makes it easy for people to search for these tweets. The #tlot stands for Top Libertarians of Twitter and makes the idea for #afterthefed spread more quickly, at least in theory.

Visit the new page: #AfterTheFed to see a Twitter search widget that is keeping track of #afterthefed
