Update: 10 reps sign on yesterday, now over 30% of House on board with HR 1207

May 7th, 2009 No comments

Everyday more co-sponsors in the U.S. House of Representatives are adding their support to the Audit the Fed Bill, H.R. 1207. Just yesterday on May 6th 10 more reps signed on as co-sponsors. So as of the early morning of May 7th, their is one sponsor and 134 co-sponsors listed, for a total of 135. So currently 135 out 435 representatives, or 31.03% of all US Representatives now are sponsoring this bill.

Check the current level of co-sponsors at this updated page for H.R. 1207 at thomas.loc.gov/ – CLICK HERE. There could be even more co-sponsors as I type this as it appears that the number of representatives co-sponsoring is updated once early in the morning.

If you think it is a good idea that we should audit the fed, don’t just read and cheer the good news of more co-sponsors. Help make more co-sponsors by contacting your representatives and educating others. Let’s pump the stats up to at least 50.1149% – 218 out of 435.

Things you can do:

  • Sign the Online Petition.
Call, email, or write your representative.
Create printable petitions and go gather signatures, like me.
Spread the word both by talking to friends and family by voice or digitally.
  • Remember to be respectful when contacting your representatives or talking to others. It is easier to convince someone to listen to an idea that they don’t believe in by not attacking them and putting them on the defensive. I like the way Ron Paul has a solid philosophy and stands tall when logically explaining his ideas and I try to emulate it and encourage others to do the same.

So far my representative, Betsey Markey, has taken no position, as I am told “she is still considering both sides”.

Here is a video of what Thomas E Woods says about supporting H.R. 1207:

Audit the Fed (H.R. 1207) Petition for Betsey Markey
Right now, due to a US Code it is not possible for our representatives in Congress, nor any other agency to fully audit the Federal Reserve. The “Audit the Fed Bill” H.R. 1207 would strike portions of US code, 31 USC 714, and order an audit of the Federal Reserve. We need transparency NOW. The private Federal Reserve is creating Trillions of dollars NOW and we need to know what this internally secretive organization is up to and what is on their books, as they are playing with all of our futures and value of the dollar.

HR 1207 has 55 co-sponsors as of April 2nd! Ask your Representative to co-sponsor HR 1207 too! Check to see if your representative has co-sponsored the bill.

I live in Colorado and we have seven Representatives in the US House. I want them to support and cosponsor the bill now, and I want you to help me convince them.

Following are petitions you can download, print out, gather signatures with, and then turn in to your own representatives office. These petitions are asking each of the representatives individually to cosponsor H.R. 1207 and make every effort to seek roll call votes.
